Grimentz - Zinal - St Luc are situated in Valais about 2.5hrs drive from Geneva. The resorts form part of the network in the Val d' Anniviers region with more than 220km of skiing, but none of the resorts are linked and a car must be used to get around. The region has such attractions as traditional local architecture, 'chocolate box' villages, and the Moiry Glacier above Zinal. In winter, pristine white peaks offer you amazing alpine views beneath the blue sky and sunshine.
Each resort has enough skiing and infrastructure to be fully independent and Grimentz is by far the most popular and the largest, Zinal(1650m) is the highest (apart from the small hamlet of Chandolin 2000m) and the most snow sure. The more south facing St Luc and Chandolin have good sun and are high enough to retain good snow.
Property prices in this region are below the likes of Crans or Villars but quite above that of smaller places such as La Tzoumaz. This region has a real charm and for those who do not mind the extra travel (public transport is slow and not practical here) and are not looking for the best or largest ski area, this is a perfect and unique region for a second home.
