Villars region is one of the closest ski resorts to Geneva airport and can be reached in less than 1.5 hours by car and it also has a train connection to Geneva. It is French speaking region and although situated in the canton of Vaud it sits on the cantonal boarder at the head of the Valais region. From Villars you have views from lake Geneva to Mont Blanc and the resort has a definite style and atmosphere. Villars is linked by to the small village of Le Diablerets, with the famous Glacier 3000. With its majestic summits and pristine forests, the pretty mountain village of Les Diablerets in the heart of the Vaud Alps is a gem situated at the base of a large skiing glacier. Skiing in the VIllars-Diablerets region, including 120 km of pistes, 20 km of cross-country ski and 30 km of hiking trails which are more than enough to keep you occupied winter or summer. There are enough restaurants and bars for any holiday but it is not a loud or crowded resort and really for those who are happy with a traditional town resort. Property growth here is good and the rental market is strong, however land prices are moving fast, which is pushing up property prices.
